Qatar has become the largest overall donor to U.S. colleges and universities since 1986, with $6.3 billion through the end of 2025.

Over $2 billion of this amount came from Qatar to the U.S. during the 2021–2024 period alone.

Qatar became the leading foreign funder of American colleges and universities since the early 2000s.

It is worth noting that a large portion of Qatari funding in the US likely pursues the interests of Islamist networks linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

It is difficult to assess and identify specific cases of Islamist influence due to the covert nature of these networks.

However, the results of this influence are allegedly already visible on many campuses in the US. One can note the level of support for Palestine, Hamas, Iran, and other groups designated as terrorists by some sources, among young American students.

Such a trend was not evident in the early 2000s, while today numerous cases of open support for terrorism and Islamism have been reported, including anti-Semitic attacks, pro-Iranian activism, and pro-Palestinian protest camps on American campuses.

According to this view, billions of dollars have been invested to influence American students and shape the attitudes of future elites towards America and the West./BuzPost/
