An earthquake struck eastern Switzerland and Liechtenstein early Sunday morning.

According to the Swiss Seismological Service, the quake struck shortly before 4:30 a.m.

The epicenter was approximately six kilometers east of Walenstadt (Canton of St. Gallen), south of Lake Constance. Experts reported a magnitude of 3.8.

But what has also become a topic is the fact that although an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 is considered relatively weak, it was nevertheless felt by a large number of people.

This is mainly due to its shallow depth.

In this regard, foreign media write, according to Telegraph, experts estimate that up to 600,000 people felt the earthquake.

According to the Swiss Seismological Service, hundreds of reports were received immediately after the earthquake.
