Tesla’s Berlin factory manager, Andre Thierig, has announced a series of important developments related to production and employment at this industrial center through the X platform.

According to him, the company has decided to increase Model Y production by 20 percent starting in July 2026. This increase comes in response to increased market demand and the good performance of the factory.

To cope with this expansion, Tesla plans to hire about 1,000 new workers starting in May, while 500 temporary employees will be converted to permanent contracts, strengthening the stability of the workforce.

Thierig also noted that this decision comes after a record first quarter in 2026, during which Tesla’s Berlin factory produced over 61,000 Model Y vehicles, considering this one of the most successful periods for the plant.

In his statement, he described the “Giga Berlin” as a powerful production center that is playing a key role in the company’s global strategy for electric vehicles.

These developments come at a time when the company has been in great public attention due to the statements and positions of co-founder and CEO Elon Musk, as well as after a period of fluctuating sales in several markets.

However, according to the latest data, it seems that Tesla has managed to stabilize the situation and restore growth, especially in its most important segment – the Model Y, which is produced mainly at the Berlin factory and is considered one of the company’s best-selling models globally./BuzPost/
